Los Medanos Big Game Hunting

Located just a few kilometers north of central Patagonia, the hunting grounds vary from rolling sand dunes, cattle pastures with forests and some farming done at the ranch, which spans over 160.000 acres of free range land.

Los Medanos Big Game Lodge has four bedrooms with private bathrooms, living and dining room. It is the refurbished original working ranch house. With an outdoor sitting area and a fire pit to share sundowners and plan next day's hunt with your host and guides.

The hunting starts at first light after breakfast, hunters depart with their guides to their chosen areas to hunt, whether stalking red stag , spotting black buck on the open plains or looking for big water buffalo bulls around the water holes. Hunting continues until noon when animals bed down. 

We return to the lodge for lunch and a “siesta” before resuming the hunt in the afternoon until sundown. Not only will you experience some of the most beautiful sights in central Argentina but you will also see the local gauchos working cattle the way it has been done for the last 200 years.

Meals are typical of the area where a mix of game and local beef is prepared into delicious dishes, and of course, a fantastic selection of Argentine malbec wines.

Because of the lay of the terrain and shape of the forest, combined with the sandy soil, this area is ideal for stalking game with a bow as it offers excellent cover to get in range. The ranch is located 2 hours away from San Luis airport (LUQ) and 5 hours away from Córdoba airport (COR).

We have a landing strip on the property, so charter flights can be arranged both from Buenos Aires and Córdoba (or any other destination in Argentina) if you are combining this hunt with any other activities. 

During the months of April, May & June the corn fields at the ranch are harvested. This attracts vast numbers of doves & pigeon, which makes for a great combination of high volume wingshooting and hunting.
